Introduction
24 Hours was formed in Fall of 2006 in Xi'an and relocated to Beijing in the end of 2008. Their debut record, produced by Martin Atkins (Pigface, Nine Inch Nails), is scheduled for a fall release on Maybe Mars Records.
From Xi'an, the members of "24hourpartypeople" are typical youth from 1980's. They like catchy tunes, carefree melodies, punchy rhythms and whimsical pop style. Combining garage, disco, and post-punk, they've impressed audiences with their distinctive style and charming performances. Taking their name from Manchester's Happy Mandays(and the film), this band knows their Brit-pop influences!

History
2005/2006: The beginnings
24 Hours was formed as 24 Hour Party People in November 2005 in Xi'an after the same-named movie. Later in 2008, they shortened their name to 24 Hours as they felt not too comfortable with the long name. Lineup at that time had been Zhang Chen 張晨 （Vo&B）, Lu Chuan 盧川 （G） and Ren Yilan 任一蘭（G）. In December Zhang Bin 張斌 joins as drummer and the band is officially formed. They chose their name because
We like this film (24 Hour Party People), the music and the whole atmosphere of that incredible time. The name of our band is named after a Joy Division song. - Interview by We Live in Beijing[1]
During the mid of 2006, Lu Chuan 盧川 (guitar) leaves the band due to problems with her school and Zhang Di 張迪 (vocals) joins. November 17th, they performed in the Moonlet bar during the release party of the compilation record Various Artists of Xi'an Rock'n'Roll Music Vol. 2 (VA). December 5th, they performed in the YoYo bar as support act to foreign band Haggis. December 10th they rocked the YoYo bar as support to New Pants. In December Zhang Di 張迪 (vocals) leaves the band, leaving the lineup with Zhang Chen 張晨 （Vo&B）, Ren Yilan 任一蘭 （G） and Zhao Bin 趙斌 （Dr）. Towards the end of the year they sign a contract with 張冠李戴唱片 (Zhang Guan Li Dai Records).
2007
March 18th, 2007, they performed in the Moonlet bar, in Xi'an, as support to foreign band ORANGE. March 24th, they performed in Chengdu's Little Bar. April 14th they rocked the Moonlet bar. April 28th, they performed at Shanghai's 4Live. In May, the lineup was Zhang Chen 張晨 （Vo&B）, Ren Yilan 任一蘭 （G&Vo） and Li Guan Yu 李冠宇 （Dr）. On June 2nd, they performed in the LIVE SHOW as support act to Queen Sea Big Shark. On June 10th, they performed in the LIVE SHOW as support act to Convenience Store. In August they annouced their first EP 24 Hour Party People. August 25th, they performed at the 無界銷售中心, during the 無界揺滾 Music Festival. September 15th they performed in the Moonlet bar as support act to Joyside. October 5th they rocked Beijing's D-22. October 6th, they performed in Beijing's MAO. In October also their song Mr.Stevenson was included in the So Rock! Magazine (no. 68). October 26th, they performed in Shanghai's 4 Live. October 28th, they performed in Shanghai's Club Bonbon. November 2nd, they rocked the Starlive as support act to Brandon Thomas. November 24th, they supported the release party of Pulse first EP Open the Pulse World in the Starlive. December 14th they rocked Beijing's MAO. December 22nd they performed in Starlive.
2008
January 12th, 2008, they performed in Beijing's Yugong Yishan. Later in January their song Mr.Stevenson appeared in the X-Music Magazine no. 357. March 7th, they performed in Beijing's Yugong Yishan. March 8th, they rocked Chengdu's Little Bar. March 14th, they performed in Shanghai's Yuyintang. March 15th, they performed in Shanghai's Live Bar. March 22nd, they rocked Beijing's MAO. March 23rd, they rocked Beijing's Yugong Yishan. March 29th, they performed in Chengdu's VOX bar. April 6th, they rocked the Starlive as support gig to Dandi Wind. April 18th, they rocked the Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology. May 2nd, they performed in Beijing's D-22. May 5th, they performed in the Chang'an University. On June 14th they supported Tookoo in the Tiger bar. June 15th, they performed in the Tiger bar. Thereafter they relocated to Beijing. September 13th, they performed in the What bar. September 25th they performed in the Mao bar. September 30th they rocked the Haidian park during the Modern Sky Festival 2008. October 11th, they performed at the Yugong Yishan during the S.D!ZINE magazine night. October 24th, they performed as support act to Elliot Sharp in the D-22.
2009
January 10th, 2009, they performed as support act in the Mao during the release concert of Ourself Beside Me's self-title record. February 14th, they rocked the D-22. March 20th, they performed in the Yugong Yishan during the release party of The Gar's self-titled record. April 25th they performed at Shanghai's Zhi Jiang Dream Factory. August 8th 2009, they performed during the InMusic Festival 2009 on the Zhangbei Grasslands on the Stage 2. October 16th, they held their release party for their Maybe Mars record No Party People in the D-22. October 23rd to November 1st, 24 Hours toured around China, starting on the 23rd in their hometown Xi'an in the Moonlet bar. October 24th they rocked Chengdu's Little Bar. October 25th they performed in Chongqing's Nuts Club. October 28th, they performed in Guangzhou's C-Union bar. October 29th, they rocked Changsha's 48 Live House. October 30th they performed in Wuhan's VOX bar. October 31st, they performed in Shanghai's Yuyintang. According to Jake Newby: The last time I'd seen them was up at Zhangbei where they were lost a bit on such a big stage. With all three members contributing vocals at times, it's hard for them to move around on stage and that can mean that, on a large stage particularly, they don't work all that well as a spectacle. On a smaller stage and in a more intimate venue like Yuyintang however, this isn't the case and they were on fire last night producing an excellent show. .[2] November 1st they rocked Nanjing's Castle Bar. Towards the end of October, Maybe Mars releases 24 Hour's MV Mr. Stevenson (from their album: No Party People) on Youku.[3]
2010
On January 22nd, 2010, they performed in the Mao Livehouse Shanghai. According to Andy Best: I was there to rock out to 24 Hours after their amazing Yuyintang show but they were hampered by poor sound and what seemed like poor monitors too.[4] In the February 2010 issue of TimeOut Beijing, the Team Time Out named them as one of the top acts in 2010.[5] On April 24th, they performed at the 2 Kolegas. According to Beijing Gig Guide:The first band that was playing with 24 Hours. I stuck it out for one song, but then I couldn’t take it anymore. I haven’t listened to much of their music, just what’s on compilations I’ve bought recently, but I thought I was going to enjoy them. It didn’t happen.[6] On May 1st, 2010, they performed at the Midi Music Festival 2010. On August 21st, they performed in Qingdao's REDSTAR. According to Qingdaonese: The trio performed a set of originals and topped it off with a cover of the Cher song Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) popularized by Nancy Sinatra (h/t Ryan Blocher) and featured in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill.[7]
