History

In Feb 2005, Ed and Abe (pronunced Ah-bee) starting playing together with Mei on bass and Yu on drums and played their first show shortly afterwards at the Kowloon, Hong Kong, venue called Kwun Tong Live House.

d o w n e r were quickly noticed for their unique sound that emotes their audience, and acquired a following. 89268 Records put them on two compilations afterwards, the 2005 compilation "5th Element" and the 2006 compilation "Boo Boo".

In 2011, they were signed to Black Market Music Production.

d o w n e r played the South China tour O Lun Rock mini tour 2011 in July 2011 and played in Taiwan's “streetvoice/the next big thing" on August 4, 2011.

In early 2012, Nicky Yuen announced departure to focus on his career.

On November 18, 2012, d o w n e r released their debut album "swallowyourshallow". The album was recorded in the summer of 2012, with new drummer Iris, Abe and Henry went to Taiwan to record the new album, while Ed laid down the guitar tracks in Hong Kong. Originally to release with the Forget The G album in August, it was delayed due to post-production and, although Forget The G did release the album in September, the two bands held a joined album release show in November in Macau and Hong Kong.
