As a music critic, Yan Jun publicized the “No Beijing” movement in 2005, which included bands like Carsick Cars, Snapline, Queensea Big Shark and Nezha (now The Gar), who took their cue from the 1970s New York underground No Wave noise-rock scene.[1]
