History

2000-2001: The formation & first breakup

Oxygen Can, 2001

Ye Yuan Guan Tou was formed in Beijing in July 2000 with Shiyou Liu as mastermind. Though the lineup changed various times, most of the members graduated from the Beijing Midi School of Music. Playing metal and hardcore, Oxygen Can also mixes industrial noise and techno into their music. Lineup at that time was 劉世友（Vo）, Kong Hong 孔鴻（G）, 尚楚（G）, Cheng Yin Sheng 成寅生（B）, Chi Gong Wei, 遅功偉（Per&ドラム缶）, Wu Di, 呉迪（Per） and Zhang Bin 張冰（Dr）.

In April 2001, they performed at the 公安大学大. In May, they performed during the Midi Music Festival 2001. On June 30th, they rocked the 開心楽園. September 15th, they performed at the 莱茵河声場. October 4th, they rocked the Ger Lucky Bar. In fall the same year the band disbanded and Shiyou Liu went abroad to study in Ireland.

2002: Restarting the band

In 2002 the band reformed with the following lineup: Wang ke (王珂) （Vo）, 尚楚（G&Cho）, Huang Tao (黄濤) （G）, Cheng Yin Sheng (成寅生) （B）, Wang Lei (王磊) （Dr） and Chi Gong Wei (遅功偉)（Per）. Zhao Xin (趙欣) also shortly joined the band but left quickly. On May 1st they performed at the Midi Music Festival 2002. In June Wang Ke (王珂) and 尚楚 leave the band. In July Kong Hong (孔鴻) rejoins the band. In August Zhang Yu (張宇) (Vo) joined the band. September 12th, they performed in the CD Cafe. September 28th, they rocked the 起点 bar. October 19th, they performed in Harbin's 哈爾濱学院（師専）籃球館 during the 聖通之夜黒龍江省華夏現代 music festival. October 31st, they performed in the CD Cafe during their Halloween show. December 18th, they performed in the 全国農業展覧館2号館. December 25th, they performed in the 起点 during the Crazy Christmas Night (聖誕節狂歓夜). At the end of the year the lineup consisted of: Zhang Yu (張宇) （Vo）, Kong Hong (孔鴻) （G）, Cheng Yin Sheng (成寅生)（B）, Zhang Bin (張冰)（Dr） and Chi Gong Wei (大偉)（Per）.

2003

Lineup during the first half year: Zhang Yu (張宇)（Vo）, Kong Hong (孔鴻)（G）, Huang Tao (黄濤)（G）, Cheng Yin Sheng (成寅生)（B）, Wang Lei (王磊)（Dr）, Chi Gong Wei (大偉)（Per） and 李仲秋 (Shi Jun)（Per）. In February one song of Oxygen Can was included in the magazine "So Rock!" issue #17. March 8th, they performed in the Get Lucky Bar. April 8th, they rocked the Get Lucky bar during the Kurt Cobain memorial gig. April 12th, they performed in the 金起点 bar. July 12th, they performed in the 金起点 bar. In August their song 観念 was included in the X-Music Magazine no. 251. August 17th, they performed in the 蔵酷 bar. August 22nd, they rocked the Get Lucky Bar. September 20th, they performed in the Nameless Highland. September 21st, they performed in the Langfang University in the Banana迪斯科広場. October 3rd, they rocked the Midi Music Festival 2003. October 7th, they performed in the Get Lucky Bar. The same month, Huang Tao (黄濤)（G） left the band and 石頭（G） joined. October 20th Oxygen Can played at the Sichuan music institute for popular music in Chengdu. Afterwards they sold the live VCD of this show. October 21st, they performed in Chengdu's 成都民族音楽学院. October 25th, they performed in Xi'ans 8 1/2 Bar. October 31st, they performed in the Get Lucky Bar and in the Nameless Highland for their Halloween gigs. November 22nd, they rocked the Get Lucky Bar during the 『吶喊　為了中国曾経的揺滾』アルバム発表会 event. December 12th, they performed in the Get Lucky Bar celebrating their third anniversary as a band. The performance was recorded and later distributed as demo record.

2004

Lineup of 2004: Zhang Yu (張宇)（Vo）, Kong Hong (孔鴻)（G）, 李志偉（G）, Cheng Yin Sheng (成寅生)（B）, Wang Lei (王磊)（Dr） and 李仲秋（Per）. On February 14th, they performed at the Beijing 懐柔県滑雪場雪地 rock music festival. April 9th, they performed at the Get Lucky Bar. April 23rd, they rocked the Get Lucky Bar. May 1st, they performed in the Chaoyang Park during the 朝陽流行音楽周 event. May 3rd, they performed in the Nameless Highland. June 9th, they rocked Heilongjiang's 省阿 city and performed in the 阿城市影劇院 during the 阿城市首届星海現代音楽節 event. Afterwards they released a VCD of that show. June 11th, they performed in the 哈爾濱学院初等教育学院籃球館 in Harbin during the 聖通之夜黒龍江省第三届華夏現代 music festival. July 17th, they performed in the Nameless Highland. In August 李志偉 left the band and Dong Chuan Xin joined on the guitars. August 14th, they performed at the Nameless Highland. September 3rd, they rocked the Nameless Highland. October 6th, they performed in the New Get Lucky Bar. November 22nd, they rocked the Nameless Highland during the 中国地下音楽網3歳生日聚会 event. December 24th, they performed in the 13 Club. December 25th, they performed in the Christmas concert at the Nameless Highland. December 31st they rocked the 雲夢 bar.

2005

On January 1st, 2005, they performed during the New Years Concert at the 蔵酷. The lineup during that gig was Zhang Yu (張宇)（Vo）, Dong Chuan Xin (董傳［金3］)（G）, 高旭（Xueji de Wanghun）（G）, Deng Xiao Guang (deng曉光)（B）, 孫權（Dr） and 李仲秋（Per）. However due to the bad performance of 李仲秋, 王顕志 had to jump in and support. On Marsch 25th, they performed in the New Get Lucky Bar. In April their song 灰藍色 was included in the So Rock! Magazine (no. 40). Around that time they also signed with the company 北京魔笛音楽文化有限公司. September 7th, they rocked the 13 Club. August 20th, they performed in the New Get Lucky Bar during the 中国揺滾楽団体反恐怖活動演唱会[貳] event. September 2nd, they performed in the 13 Club. October 3rd, they rocked the 13 Club. October 4th, they performed during the Midi Music Festival 2005 with the following lineup: Zhang Yu (張宇)（Vo）, Dong Chuan Xin (董傳［金3］)（G）, 高旭（G）, Deng Xiao Guang (deng曉光)（B）, 王斌（ex-Limit）（Dr）, Sun Quan (孫權)（Per） and 王顕志（Per）. On October 14th, they held their release/presentation party for the record Oxygen Can. October 21st, they performed in the Nameless Highland. Further in October 付晨雷 (LR) joined on the bass. November 11th, they performed at the Agricultural Univeristy of China (中国農業大学) theatre. In December Li Bao (李寶) joins as drummer. December 25th, they performed at the 13 Club Christmas Concert. December 31st, they rocked the New Get Lucky Bar.

2006

On April 15th, 2006, they performed in the Nameless Highland. May 3rd, they rocked the 13 Club. On May 12th, they performed in the Botanical Garden in Jinan. May 27th, they rocked the New Get Lucky Bar during the I Have Nothing - Celebrating 20 Years of Chinese Rock (1986-2006) event. June 17th, they performed in the 13 Club. July 8th, they rocked Tianjin's 上遊開場 together with 641. July 21st, they performed in Shenzhen's 世界之窗 during the Yesterday - Today - South Chinese Rock Music Festival. Lineup at that time was Zhang Yu (張宇) （Vo）, Dong Chuan Xin (董傳［金3］)（G）, 高旭（G）, 付晨雷（B）, Li Bao (李寶) （Dr）, Chi Gong Wei (大偉) （Per）. August 12th, they performed in the 13 Club. August 18th, they rocked the 13 Club. August 19th, they rocked the Get Lucky Bar during the 拯救家園、凝聚[ｲ火] 伴為中国地網募捐義演的活動 event. September 24th, they performed at the Star Live during the Zippo Hot Tour 2006 band competition. October 1st, they performed at the 13 Club Metal Festival called 首届HZ 13金属音楽節. October 4th, they performed at Guangdong's 増城広場 during the 首届中国（増城）揺滾&[口卑]酒狂歓節曁第五届新塘国際牛仔服装 festival. October 7th, they performed during the Beijing beer and rock festival 2006. October 13th, they performed at the 13 Club as support act to US band From This Day. October 27th, they performed at the 13 Club. October 28th, they rocked the Get Lucky Bar. November 25th, they performed at the Nameless Highland. December 1st, they rocked at the 13 Club during the 我和我追逐的夢之張慧一路走好! event. December 2nd, they performed at the Starlive during the 中国地網五周年音楽盛会2006 event. December 8th, they performed at the 13 Club during the 永生的地獄牛仔 - 向已故PANTERA吉他手金属戦士DIME致敬演唱会 event. December 9th, they rocked Changchun's 千人SOS風暴 during the first 届長春国際 music festival. December 15th, they rocked the Nameless Highland. Furthermore in December their debute record Oxygen Can was re-released. December 31st, they performed at the 13 Club.

2007

On January 1st, 2007, they performed in 山東省日照. March 31st, they performed at Shenyang's UFO迪 Bar. April 13th, they held a presentation gig at the 13 Club for their first DVD release. May 4th, they performed at the Midi Music Festival 2007 on the Gibson Guitar stage. At the same day they also rock the 13 Club. In May, their song 灰、藍色 was included in the X-Music Magazine no. 341. Then 大牛（王宇鵬） (ex-Scar Consitution) joined on the bass. June 9th, they performed at Jinan's PARK倶楽部. June 16th, they rocked the Starlive. June 23rd, they performed at the Get Lucky Bar. June 26th, they rocked the 13 Club. On July 1st, they performed at the Mao Livehouse during the 我們還有時間拯救 - 為三個貧困血液病患児的募捐義演 event. July 13th they performed in the Get Lucky Bar. July 29th, they rocked the Get Lucky Bar. August 4th, they performed in the 13 Club. August 10th, they rocked the Starlive. October 2nd, they performed in the 13 Club during the 拾参金属音楽節2 festival. October 4th, they performed at the Mao Livehouse. November 3rd, they rocked Xi'ans 月亮鑰匙 bar. November 7th, they performed at Xining's 西部酒城. November 30th, they performed at the Mao Livehouse. December 1st, they rocked the Starlive. Further in December Sun Quan 孫權（Dr） joined and the lineup consisted of Zhang Yu (張宇)（Vo）, Dong Chuan Xin (董傳［金3)］（G）, 高旭（G）, 大牛（B）, Sun Quan (孫權)（Dr） and Chi Gong Wei (大偉)（Per）. December 8th, they performed at the 13 Club during the TRIBUTE TO DIMEBAG LIVE concert. On December 31st, they performed at the Haidian Exhibition Hall during the 魔菇2008現代 music festival.

2008

On January 12th, 2008, they performed in the 13 Club. On March 15th, they rocked Dongguan's 文化周末劇場で蘇菲花園楽隊. March 22n,d they performed in Tianjin's 13 Club. April 26th, they rocked the Get Lucky Bar. In May they released their demo record entilted 誓言. Thereafter they went on a national tour, starting on May 24th in Xi'ans 月亮鑰匙 bar. May 25th, they rocked Xi'ans Tiger Bar. May 30th, they performed in Nanchang's 黒鉄 bar. May 31st, they rocked Changsha's 肆陸 bar. June 2nd, they performed in Wuhan's XOV bar. June 4th, they performed in Guiyang's 南方公園 bar. June 6th, they rocked Qujing's No. 57 Bar. June 7th, they performed in Kunming's Speak (Shuo) Bar. June 13th, they performed in Dali's 玄武攀岩 bar. June 14th, they rocked in Lijiang's 39度8 bar. October 5th, they performed in the Midi Music Festival 2008. November 1st, they rocked the Starlive during the You in a Red Chamber, I Journey West event. Also their song 葬花吟 was included in that compilation record You in a Red Chamber, I Journey West (VA). November 30th, they performed at the Mao Live. December 21st, they rocked Harbin's 燃点 bar. December 24th, they performed at Shenyang's 福.LOFT. December 27th, they rocked Tianjin's 13 Club. Further in December 2008, they released their record 灰蓝色 EP via the netlabel MicroMu online.
