Hongkong / Macao / Taiwan Bands

How shall we add those bands formed in Hongkong, Taiwan or Macao? The original focus of the band forming timeline (as well as RiC) had been to capture the mainland underground scene and step by step was widened to include other bands. One idea from my side would be to only add those bands formed after the official return of Hongkong and Macao and exclude Taiwan bands in this timeline.

That would be 1997 for Hongkong and 1999 for Macao. --Azchael 23:41, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

I would rather not include those bands at all at the moment because the scene in those regions is much more mature and developed independently from the mainland scene. The influence was (and still is in my opinion) only very little. If you really want to include them though this seems like a good compromise. -- Matsch 18:32, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
Actually I think for Macao we have no bands and I am not aware of any so far. Regarding Hongkong we could also open up another timeline, but then I would also look a little closer in the scene development there and add it somewhere. Am also unsure what the best solution is. --Azchael 18:42, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
Another idea specifically for the timeline would be to mark them with a HK/Macao flag (like with the languages) or otherwise (e.g. jut a plain "(HK)"). Not sure if this is any better, though. -- Matsch 19:55, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
Regarding HK bands I am currently in discussion with the people behind HK Underground and how we could work together. They have already written ~200 band bios about HK bands and if we could get their permission to include their band bios, then we could think of a separate HK section (including interviews, a short article, etc.) and a separate HK timeline. --Azchael 20:49, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Pictures / Others

I added several bands below the gallery section, for I dont think we ever are going to get a photo of them, as they are really short-lived student bands. For those we think we might get a photo one day we can still use the Nobody.gif. --Azchael 18:27, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

I disagree. My intention with the Nobody.gif and Norecord.png was to actually have one combined alphabetic list -- and not several. It doesn't matter if we ever get a photo or album cover or not. -- Matsch 21:41, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
I thought that u disagree :) While doing the additional "Other" list I also noticed that it makes not too much sense. When I have time I work them back into the gallery. --84.17.100.72 06:40, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Bands with no confirmed formation date

I was wondering what we do with bands, that have no specific formation date, e.g. Prip Azia, which I have copied from yaogun.com. My idea would be to take the first known activity, e.g. record release or official gig with an audience, and put the band towards that year. But I would like to add a small icon behind the bands name, maybe a question mark. What are you thinking? --Azchael 20:49, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
