The exact date of forming is not known, however it is thought that Underbaby was formed around 1994/5, hence the year of forming is put to 1994.-?-

Key members of the band are the brothers Gao Xing (Vo&C) and Gao Yang (Drums).

In August 1996, their song All the same is included in the China Fire II (VA) compilation record. They also are signed on by Magic Stone Records. Later Yue Hao Kun joins as bassist. Underbaby is performing regularly in the Scream Club in Beijing.

On July 11th, 1997, they performed in the 向日葵倶楽部.

In October 1998, their songs 種子 and 覚醒 were included in the compilation record China Fire III (VA).

In 1999, Magic Stone leaves the China business and they change their contract to Rock Records. In January their first record Awake is being released. Later that year Gao Xing starts a solo career.

At the end of 2000, the band resumed their activities with a new lineup: Gao Xing (Vo&G), Sun Da Wei (G), Da Le (B), Su Yang (Dr), 梨明 (Keyboards) (Catcher in the Rye) and 煬子 (Mg). Gao Yang did not take over the drums. Furthermore they changed their style from punk to rock.

In 2001, they produced a 13 song demo. On December 20th, they rocked the CD Cafe.
