History
Roy aka Viceroy comes from the tiny little country of Singapore but only began to dj in earnest after arriving in Shanghai back in 2007. He has since been playing primarily with the Phreaktion crew.
He was first introduced to drum ‘n bass through DJ Marky’s Brazilian Job and has been hooked ever since. His many influences include Nu:Tone, Logistics, High Contrast, Commix, Matrix & Futurebound, London E., Fabio, Klute and Goldie, many of whom he has played alongside - most notably - dnb legend Andy C. His sound is distinctive by its deep synth tracks and rolling basslines.
Interestingly, it was yet another dnb luminary who gave him is name. Unable to decide on his own moniker for the longest time, Goldie eventually interceded and in that instant, Viceroy was born.
